Over the past 5 months we identified our players’ swing faults, physically screened them, prescribed exercises to improve their functional movement limitations, gave them corrective drills to fix the swing fault, taught them how to warm up and even offered them a prescription for a pre-shot routine.
Most importantly we helped them to understand that golf is a complex set of physical movements and that their best chance of success is to look after the body as much as they look after the technicalities of their swings – the two go hand in hand and are inseparable.
To summarise our achievements in this exciting series:
What we strive for at the Gary Player Golf Experience is to build consistent and efficient golf swings for our students. One of the most important elements in an efficient swing is to have the ability to put the body in the correct position time after time. This is made possible by working towards improving the functionality of your ‘golf muscles”. When something is physically limiting, it is technically impossible to perform the required moves. Be sure to address your physical limitations so that your technical deficiencies and swing challenges don’t come back to haunt you because of the compensations your body is forced to make.
Here’s what our satisfied students had to say:
Anri Jonker:
“Now that I have strengthened my glutes and learned to fire them, I am hitting the ball consistently further!”
Gary Holland-Chapman:
“With more mobility in my hips I can feel my ball striking has moved to a new and exciting level!”
TJ Bismark:
“It is so much easier to get the club in the right position now that my shoulder joint is more stable!”
