Would you like to improve the consistency of your ball-strike? Setting up with the right posture is essential to creating the moves that will ensure your swing can repeat & repeat. In addition, it is vitally important to get your body into a position that will place the least amount of strain on your body whilst performing the movements of the swing.
Step One: Stand normally with your feet shoulder-width apart, like so:
Step Two: Bend from your hips, maintaining straight legs – this places the majority of your weight in your toes.
Step Three: “Pop” your knees with a slight flex to make sure your weight remains in your toes. Allow your arms to hang naturally from your shoulders - where your club contacts the ground determines the distance you should stand from the ball.
Beware of the following incorrect postures:
On the left, there is too much weight in the heels and the stance is too far from the ball, whilst on the right the stance is too upright and you are too close to the ball.
Why not add to your consistency by having your posture checked regularly by your Gary Player professional?
