Thinking of Lower Scores?

Thinking of Lower Scores?

Last month our Gary Player Golf Experience pro, Gabba Wessels, who is an AA Class PGA professional with more than 6 years teaching experience, presented his formula for SETTING UP AND LOADING WITH YOUR DRIVER. He follows this up in this month’s newsletter with a tip on a ONE PIECE TAKE AWAY…

How to

As in the pictorial Gabba is demonstrating, the one piece take away is a simple move whereby your arms and club move together in one piece. Be sure to move your hands as far as possible from the body without compromising your spine angle.

Benefits

The one piece takeaway:

  1. Ensures that you start your backswing on plane
  2. Makes it easier to maintain your plane to the top of your backswing
  3. Ensures a better path through your downswing
  4. Improves impact
  5. Creates a crisper ball strike
  6. Helps consistency
  7. Creates width of arc to generate more club head speed

Knee-note

Your trail knee (right for right-handers) is the “rock” of the backswing.

It must remain firm and slightly flexed in order to stabilize the take-away.
